Reflexology

Reflexology is a specific pressure technique applied to the feet which has it’s roots in the ancient civilisations of Egypt and China.  It works on the principle that all the organs of the body are mapped in miniature on the feet and hands.  It works to bring the body into equilibrium by balancing the 9 major systems within the body.

What happens during a treatment?
The first treatment will last approximately 90 minutes to allow time for a brief case history discussion.  All subsequent treatments will last 1 hour including the consultation.  During the treatment the client will be asked to remove their shoes and socks and after cleansing the feet, a brief examination will take place and the treatment will commence.

Who can benefit from Reflexology?
All conditions can benefit from Reflexology and there is no minimum or maximum age limit.

How will I feel after the treatment?
Reactions will vary hugely from person to person but some people may experience a clearing process after treatment.  This can also be referred to as a ‘healing curve’ or ‘healing crisis,’ it  is completely natural and nothing to worry about as it is the body’s way of restoring balance.

Whatever your reaction to the treatment, this clearing is a positive and healthy process helping to release that which is no longer needed.  It is also worth mentioning that sometimes no reaction is felt – this is also OK and does not mean the treatment has been pointless, the healing may just take place on a level we are unaware of at that time.

How many treatments will I need?
This will vary from person to person as we each have different requirements.  However a course of treatments would prove very beneficial to the recipient whereas some people prefer to have treatments occasionally.
